Marcia Hudson grew up in Eufaula, Alabama, in the ideal Christian setting with two loving parents, a God-fearing grandmother, and a supportive church family. Saved at age 7, she grew up singing in church and knew she wanted a career in Christian music. She lived on that spiritual mountaintop and held onto that dream for years.
As a young wife and mother, Marcia put her dreams on hold to devote herself to her husband, Eric, and their two daughters, Kaitlyn and Alyssa. But her ideal world fell apart July 23, 2003, when Eric, died in a very traumatic and public manner. For years Marcia was haunted by unresolved questions that lingered from the circumstances of Eric’s death. Then tragedy struck again--twice. Marcia’s father was killed in an automobile accident and her mother suffered a debilitating stroke. In one her darkest moments, however, Marcia claimed the scriptures and a favorite quote from her beloved grandmother, who had always been a rock of faith: “Let God carry you until you can walk alone, and then let Him walk beside you.”
Clinging to the promise that God would deliver her, Marcia realized that her Heavenly Father was working a miracle in her life. Just as music had sustained her as a child, Marcia’s voice lifted her from the valley of despair. When she was ready, God began to open doors for her to share her testimony and her talent.
